If 10 stars was an option, that's what I would pick. I cannot believe I went anywhere else. This place ROCKS - Dr. Hunt AND the groomers are the best!!
My 6 y.o. beagle injured her hind back leg at night when outside in the yard she started yelping. She came limping into the house refusing to put any weight down on her hind leg. Still, as a previous veterinary tech I couldn't find any apparent area of swelling, cracked nail, puncture, animal bite mark, and thought maybe she slipped on the ice. The next day, Sat. Dec 23rd I was unable to get an appt with her Vet and I was grateful Dr. Jon Hundt agreed to see her. He was upfront about a modest emergency fee (in comparison to most) as it was after hours and a holiday weekend. Having previous work experience at a Vet clinic I had the opportunity to work one on one with 9 different veterinarians and see firsthand different exam styles, emergency practices, clinic policies, etc. I can honestly say Dr. Jon Hundt gave the most thorough problem focused physical exam I have ever witnessed including her spinal column/discs, hind leg hip, knee, ankle, foot, and toe joints as well as the surrounding muscle/ligament support structures. As a result, of the intensive exam, he felt confident (as did I) that the problem was not related to a break/fracture and x-rays were not needed. In my past experience with other Vet clinics, there is often too little time spent on the exam portion and a rush to numerous pre-diagnostic tests such as x-rays, bloodwork, preventative screening, etc. In this case, Dr. Jon seemed much more methodical in his approach. Upon completing the exam, he acknowledged the importance of making her feel comfortable pain wise (he gave her a cortisone injection as well as dispensed a safe anti-inflammatory medication for dogs, Rimadyl, dispensing a limited supply, again it reduces the cost, allowing us to see how beneficial it is before buying more). He didn't insist on a follow up appt to receive more Rimadyl (just call); in addition, he also discussed the use of glucosamine/chondroitin sulfate to aid in arthritis/joint issues she has been experiencing unrelated to this incident (again not pushing any high priced product, instead he was understanding that my sister is able to get the supplement from her work). I highly recommend Dr. Hundt who literally was a one man operation given the after hours/holiday appt; still, he was considerate, never once making me feel like he was rushing but instead taking the time to make sure he did a thorough exam, answered any questions or concerns I had, administered the cortisone injection, trimmed her nails to help reduce the chance of her falling on our laminate flooring and aggravating her injury, and provided us with enough pain medication to easily get through the holidays. Thanks again.
I’ve always had a great experience with these guys. Been bringing my boys and girls here since i was A kid! They’ve always been spot on and honest.
I've had very good experiences with Creature Comforts. I love how flexible the vet is with his hours (even on a Saturday!) and he's always been very gentle and compassionate when dealing with my animals. Reasonably priced.
Worst experience we have ever had. Our Dog was having digestive issues and without any compassion the Vet proceeded to express our puppies stool. Our little guy was a tough puppy but but he cried as if he was being murdered, the inhumane way this vet treated him was heart breaking. The treatment the vet recommended didn't resolve the issue and we never went back.
